There are so many spectacularly artistic pieces in this look, and I am especially loving my gorgeous new red leather St. Mortiz bag. Hester Van Eeghen, the Dutch designer, considers all of her pieces to be functional works of art which,"...soar beyond their basic purpose." Her five essential design elements: Beauty, Passion, Shape, Color and Surprise. I wanted the St. Mortiz to stand out, as it should, so I chose to wear black and white with transparent accessories which play supporting roles but know not to take up the spotlight. But we mustn't overlook the architectural lucite cuff by Balenciaga, seen on the spring 2012 runway. I typically prefer to wear smaller, more feminine pieces on my wrists, but because the cuff is transparent, it appears to float through the air like a glow around my arm. Architecture Floating.
